Beautiful day

Another BEauTiFuL day here!  It was a record high temperature of 11.7 degrees and we just couldn't justify being inside.  A perfect day to hike in our city's beautiful river valley.

We could see the fall leaves through the little bit of snow on top!  Such unusual weather for this time of year.

I have a thing for trees.  I take a gazillion pictures everytime I encounter them.  They're just so beautiful, unique, breathtaking.  Their trunks, branches, roots.  The way the sun, clouds and sky peek through their branches.  The contrast of the branches against the sky.  The many textures.  The strength and age of these awe-inspiring creatures.

It was an utterly refreshing way to spend the afternoon.  Now onto some hooky-hooky.

I finished this cheerful dishcloth yesterday and am loving the ripple pattern!  Here's another one that's not quite finished:

I am getting pretty excited with the anticipation of hooking my very own first ever blanket!  Still trying to decide which pattern to do.  Love the ripples, but also love the granny stripe.  The hexagons were fun but not as relaxing and rhythmic as the other two.  You have to be more watchful with the hexagons lest they misbehave.
