Peanut Butter Smoothie

My kids are major smoothie lovers and this chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie is one of their favorites.  It's packed with super healthy goodness and I don't know about you, but I love it when my kids request healthy snacks!  It's adapted from Bob Greene's Best Life Diet.  One recipe makes one big glass or two smaller glasses.

One tablespoon of all natural peanut butter, no additives please.

One tablespoon of cocoa powder.

One banana.

...and one cup of almond, soy or cow's milk.  In his book, Bob Greene uses a cup of chocolate soy milk.  My kids surprisingly find this too sweet, so I use plain milk. Blend it all up.

Delicious, filling, and packed with super wholesome goodness!  An awesome mid-afternoon booster!

Granny Square Cushion

This project has come to a happy completion!  It has been worked on here and there through many other project distractions (plus moving!).  You may remember that I started it here and was so pleased at the magic of the granny square.  Granny squares (especially multi-colored ones) are time consuming but really, really fun, especially when stitched together to create something bigger.  That being said, I can't imagine how much time it would take to make a granny square blanket!  I learned how to join as you go which saved me so much stitching time later on.  When the front of the cover was done I blocked it to make it nice and flat.  Love it.

The back of the cover was fun to make.Just two pieces of double crochet.  I learned how to make button holes (this link is also the one I followed to make the back of my cushion).

Lookit those beautiful button holes!

I carefully sandwiched it all together (making sure the rights side were in!)...

...and stitched 'er together using yarn and a darning needle and some whip stitch power.

5 buttons were placed accordingly and sewn on using 2 ply of the cream yarn.

Sweet!  Happiness was abounding by this time!

Are you ready for the big moment?

Ta-da!  Love it!

What satisfaction in completing a project.
