This weekend I was selling my handmade jewellery at Make It! Edmonton. Besides selling lots of jewellery to happy customers, I loved being surrounded by fellow artists and designers. Talk about inspiring! I met so many great people from all over Canada and heard many stories about their art and craft and how they got to where they are. I felt honored to be mingling with such talent. I bought this from Edmonton artist Maria Pace-Wynters.
Her paintings left me in a frantic, breathless, excited tizzy. Such bright colors. Such imagination. Delicious. I could barely contain myself. I was tempted to blow my earnings on all the goods in her booth.
Her mixed media paintings are absolutely, positively captivating. These art cards are sitting on my counter and I drink them in whenever I walk by.
To boot, she's the nicest person ever. So is her husband. Really unpretencious people.
On the home front, I am pleased to announce that my marvelous ripple blanket is now finished! I am so happy with it, especially the weight. It is perfect to snuggle under, not too heavy, not too light. I LOVE it.
It was a truly random placing of colors, with new colors being added as other ones ran out. You may be able to see that I didn't buy my yellow until a third of the way through. I do love the randomness. It speaks to my life about how I want to be less prepared and more spontaneous.
The patchwork cushion on the couch is new too. It was such a joyful little project, happily piecing together some of the favorites in my ever growing stash of second hand fabrics.

The success of the patchwork pillow prompted me to try some patchwork hexagons. Very slow going but satisfying. It's a long way from being finished but I'm enjoying the process. It's a nice portable project that has gone many places with me.
